The past two weeks at the Mays' household have been all about baby preparation! It started two weeks ago when Mikey put new carpet in both the guest bedroom and our bedroom. He did this all by himself and did a wonderful job! On Monday of this week contractors began their work converting our loft into Baby Mays' room. Mikey and I were a little worried about how this would end up looking. We were afraid the conversion would interrupt the flow of our house, but we both agree in the end we are 100% pleased with the results. This weekend we put together the nursery, and Mikey and Grandma Kate did a ton of painting!! Below are some pictures of how things turned out! Mikey and I would like to give a big thanks to the Grandmas. Grandma Kate did a ton of painting this weekend, and Grandma Jan has been puppy sitting while our house has been torn apart!!!! Thanks girls we couldn't have gotten it done without you, your the best :)
I also had my 22 week check up last Friday. Everything looked great. The baby's heart beat was 148, and my uterus was measuring around 21 inches right on track! On Feb 14th, Valentine's Day and Granny and Papa's anniversary, I felt the baby kick for the first time!! Sampson was laying on my belly and I guess the baby did not like it because all the sudden I felt a little kick. It was the best feeling ever, words can't describe it!! Most of the time I just feel little flutters, especially after I eat or when I lie down at night, but every once in a while I will feel a slight kick or punch. I love this feeling and can't wait until Mikey can feel the baby's movements from the outside.
