Luckiest Girl in the World
This past month has been a rough one for us at Riley. We have lost several patients, most of whom we have been operating on since they were born. A dear coworker/friend also lost her daughter to a sudden illness at Riley a couple weeks ago. She was only 13 months old, and had no previous medical issues. It is very hard to understand when a child is taken from their family; a family which has done everything right for their child. This month has tested me mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It has also taught me that I am the luckiest girl in the whole world. God has blessed me in so many ways. I am so thankful for my wonderful coworkers or as I like to refer to them "My Riley Family". With out these wonderful people, it would be impossible to get through some days. I am blessed with wonderful friends, who I know I can always call and they will be there to listen and support me. My large, extrodinary, and loving family with whom out I would not be where I am today. A nephew, who got off to a rough start in this world, but continues to beat the odds and doing it all with the most wonderful smile on his face. The BEST husband, who never judges when I may come home from work in tears, but is just there to listen and give me a big "Mikey hug." Most of all my beautiful baby boy. I am so honored to be your "Mommma," as you call me. I love the way you make me smile and laugh each and every day. Most of all thank you, Cash, for teaching me a love I have never felt before.

Very well said, Chass! I know we don't keep in touch like we use to, but I will always consider you a great friend. I can relate to that special love a child brings to us. It's an amazing feeling! I will keep all of the children and families at Riley's in my prayers. Love you, Kelly
ps Cash is precious:)
From one "luckiest girl" to another, that was beautiful. I am so lucky to be you're granny and Cash and Mikey are icing on the cake. Love you all.
Dearest and Sweetest Chass, I just saw this - don't know why I missed it before. I can't tell you how this touches me - we're so lucky and honored to have you in our family. Thank you for being a great mom to Cash and a great wife to my son...we love you so much.
Your Mother-in-law!
